Serve Globally with GoCorps
Are you currently a college student or a recent graduate? Do you have a passion for media or the arts and want to use your skills to serve in missions overseas? Listen up!
The season post-college is the most mobile time in your life. It’s the perfect time to push yourself and get hands-on global and missional experience.
That’s where GoCorps comes in!
Since 2009, GoCorps has been placing 20-somethings globally for two years of impactful gospel service. Many of these young people didn’t previously see themselves as part of the missionary landscape—until GoCorps helped them put their degrees and passions to strategic use.
There are over 100 ways you can invest two years globally using your degree, passions or skill sets through carefully vetted Christian non-profits.
For those in the creative realm, GoCorps offers placements in media and the arts! Media opportunities focus on creating meaningful content through writing, design, or videography. Art opportunities include using music, dance, photography, and more as a basis for developing impactful relationships.
When asked about the importance of art in the world of missions, Carissa Wei, a GoCorps member on the field, shares, “Art itself is a form of missions. I think artists are inherently bridge builders. We tend to occupy the space between what is and what could be with showing the world as it could be and as God designed it to be. And so, we use our art as a way to connect with people that other things might not necessarily be able to do. Because of this, you often see artists at the forefront of change. Through that, art helps people to see God in unique ways . . . artists help people to care for their souls, to see beauty. It causes people to be interrupted from their daily lives which catches them off their guard. And when they’re caught off guard . . . God can really speak into that and grab their attention in a new way. Art helps to bring about God’s redemption in that way.”
[Carissa Wei serves in southern Spain. She graduated from Washington University in 2019 with a major in graphic design and a minor in Spanish. Her team does media ministry to closed countries, where they are not able to physically preach the gospel due to legality. They manage social media accounts, operate websites, and create videos and other forms of media to reach and start conversations with people living in these closed countries.]
GoCorps has mission coaches available that would love to chat with you more in depth! They are there for a helpful, no pressure, no commitment conversation to talk about this opportunity to invest two years of your career in global service, answer any questions you have, and provide some personalized insight into their teams and placements that would be a good fit for you.
